PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:
* Migrated a large mostly undocumented web and application elearning environment hosted in a co-located hosting facility with completely remote access and remote hands access to a company data center employing load balancing and service redundancy all under a tight time constraint of 6 months prior to facility lease expiration. * Migrated fifty-five unix servers and assorted applications to a Solaris zoned virtual environment using only 10 physical servers. * Deployed a large scale commerce platform using IBM WebSphere and IBM Commerce (V6) modules for a well known publisher (Harcourt School Parentstore). * Deployed a scaled Java commerce solution using Linux and open source software. * Create and maintain my own web hosting company. - http://www.yellowtwister.com * Installed two complex OnDemand systems using high-speed connectivity, high-availability, optical jukebox archival, dual-redundant IBM SSA disk storage technology, cdrom creation, fax transmission and Internet connectivity. Two year project for both systems. * Wrote automated monitoring scripts for OnDemand infrastructure * Created and maintain the Compiling on Sun FAQ a resource and HOWTO for compiling issues on the Sun Solaris platform at http://www.kevininscoe.com/geek/sun/compilesun/ * Wrote a complete monitoring system utilizing awk and shell scripts on a Sun unix server to remotely monitor Compaq Alpha production servers running OpenVMS. Received a "Spotlighting Employee Excellence" award for this work. * sendmail.cf Sendmail configuration file conversions and maintenance. * Implemented several high-availability projects involving multiple networks and media and storage strategies with complete automated failover of applications and networks in under 5 minutes time. * Implemented complete conversion from DEC CMS/MMS source code control system to SCO/NT based using PVCS. * Installed two Compaq Alpha 4100 production servers utilizing the Wizard Cable Billing product and the following layered products: Digital C, Oracle RDB, Tuxedo, Digital VAXset, Digital COBOL, Digital Ultrix Connection UCX and DEC Message Queue running over OpenVMS 6.2 and using Digital Storage Works storage shelves. * Implemented Veritas Volume Manager on several Sun Ultra-Enterprise servers attached to RSM-2000 (now A3000). * Installed Apache, GNU C and Perl 5 on numerous machines. * Implemented a company wide intranet. * Improved performance on NFS file server by upgrading server, upgrading network to a switch and 100MB ethernet using Veritas Quick I/O and NFS caching. * Industrial Security Officer administrating classified processing. Inspecting and certifying equipment for tampering. Verify compliance to US DoDSI guidelines and MOA's.Operating under US Secret clearance during this time. * Corporate security officer providing support for data integrity and protection including but no limited to virus scanning, firewall implementation and establishing unix server security procedures. |
